FORM-A-GASKET
sealant # 3 is dark
red-brown viscous liquid with a characteristic
the smell of alcohol. It's a slow drying liquid
which after evaporation of the solvent turns into
elastic adhesive film. Seals tightly
fitted parts, finished surfaces and
threaded connections, and also used in
aviation, shipbuilding, automotive and other
industries. MIL-S-45180D compliant,
Type III.
ADVANTAGES
• For flanges with closed access
• Slow drying
• Gets softly
• Withstands pressure up to 340 atm.
APPLICATION AREA
• Coatings of hard gaskets
• Close-fitting machined surfaces
• Threaded connections
• Aircraft engines
• Marine engines
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Remove remnants of previous materials from
touching surfaces. For most
materials other than plastics and unpainted
surfaces, Permatex recommended
Gasket cleaner
2. For best results, clean all
the surface with a solvent that does not leave
sediment such as Permatex Brake cleaner and
parts and dry them.
3. Remove the cap and apply with the applicator brush.
4. When used as a coating for
gaskets, apply the composition evenly on one
side of the gasket and then place it in
assembly unit. Coat another
side of the gasket and re-
assembly. Slower drying formula
increases the operating time.
5. The assembly becomes operational
after 4 hours, and complete polymerization occurs
after 24 hours.
