Description
The Castrol Tribol ™ GR 4020 PD family of greases (formerly Tribol ™ 4020) is composed of a highly refined mineral base oil, a lithium complex thickener and TGOA ™ (Tribol Grease Oil Additive), a complex of additives that are the latest in friction reduction and surface improvements. This range of multipurpose greases are formulated to extend bearing life under severe operating conditions and at elevated temperatures. Thanks to the TGOA ™ additive package, the load-carrying capacity, anti-wear properties and the ability to reduce friction of Tribol ™ GR 4020 PD greases compare favorably with traditional complex lubricants. At relatively high specific loads and associated temperatures, this complex helps to smooth surface roughness at the microscopic level without any damage to it. The smoothing effect reduces friction and increases the load bearing surface of the bearing. In the event of roughness due to shock loads or frequent interruptions, the TGOA ™ additive package is automatically reactivated every time. The surface roughness is evened out again and the lubrication process is optimized.

Application
Tribol ™ GR 4020 PD greases are formulated as multipurpose lubricants for heavy duty plain and rolling bearing applications at medium to high loads. The TGOA ™ additive package is very effective in protecting machined bearing surfaces during the critical running-in period. A good bearing surface is a prerequisite for a long bearing life. Tribol 4020 greases are commonly used for the lubrication of general plant equipment in the automotive industry, as well as in those industries where high performance light-colored greases are preferred.
