REDLINE OIL LSD Limited Slip Differential Additive
Limited slip differentials or limited slip differentials use plates or friction plate packs to provide the required locking force in the differential.
Sufficient slippery oil must be used in these differentials to prevent jamming, crackling and noise, but too slippery oil will result in differential slippage and insufficient locking. For optimum performance use RedLine 75W90 NS and Red Line Differential Additive.
Meets the requirements of GM 1052358, Ford M2C118-A, 19B546-MA, Chrysler 4318060 and most non-American auto manufacturers.
Recommended dosage: Use up to 4% to eliminate noise in lapped gears (typically one 4oz / 120ml bottle) or 4 to 8% for running-in new differentials.
Differential additive significantly reduces friction during the break-in period.
High temperatures during the run-in period can destroy the hard (cemented) metal layer on the gear teeth, leading to rapid wear on parts. The Red Line additive significantly reduces the operating temperature during break-in, which has a positive effect on the operation of the mechanism. The additive is compatible with mineral and synthetic gear oils. ALL Red Line transmission oils already contain this additive, EXCEPT NS oils.
