KERRY KR-144-2 Silicone Automotive Sealant is used to repair or form gaskets in vehicle components exposed to high temperatures, such as crankcase cover / gearbox oil pan, engine oil pan, thermostat housing, water pump. Can be applied to standard gaskets to improve their performance (not recommended for use on the cylinder head).
Free of solvents and acids, non-corrosive, safe for oxygen sensors. Can be used to seal electrical connections and sensors. It is characterized by excellent adhesion to metal, plastic, glass and rubber surfaces. Silicone auto sealant is suitable for sealing and repairing car headlights, eliminates leaks through car glass seals. Room Temperature Vulcanize (RTV) to form a tough flexible gasket. Does not crack or shrink.
The included spout allows for precise metering and gentle application of the sealant.
Does not deteriorate under the influence of water, oils, antifreeze and other automotive technical fluids (with the exception of gasoline and diesel fuel).
Has a wide operating temperature range: from –60 ° С to + 345 ° С.
2.5-3 running meters with a roller diameter of 4 mm.
Application:
It is recommended to carry out the work at an ambient temperature of + 5 ° C to + 40 ° C and a sealant temperature of + 20… 25 ° C.
Clean, degrease and dry surfaces before applying the sealant. It is recommended to use KR-969 "Gasket and Sealant Remover" to remove traces of old sealant. For degreasing and cleaning - KR-965 "Brake cleaner".
Using the supplied nozzle, apply the sealant in a continuous uniform strip 2-3 mm thick on one of the surfaces; first along the inner perimeter, then around the mounting holes and connect the parts without waiting for the start of polymerization.
Formation of a surface film - 10–20 minutes, the rate of sealant vulcanization - 2 mm per day (at a temperature of + 23 ° C and a relative humidity of 50%). After vulcanization of the sealant, additional bolt pulling is not required.
After finishing work, clean the nozzle, close the tube.
Clean surfaces contaminated with uncured sealant with a solvent (acetone, white spirit).
Remove excess hardened sealant mechanically using KR-969 “Gasket and sealant remover”.
